HISTORICAL SETTING

1953: Department of Extra Mural Studies (DEMS) of Maker ere University established in Kenya at Koibatek in Baringo County.

The Faculty of Education Libraries.

The Faculty of Education has 4 libraries spread across 4 campuses i.e Kikuyu, Kenya Science, Mombasa and Kisumu. The Libraries are stocked with books in the field of education and allied areas.The Library provides services to both undergraduate and post graduate students as well as staff members at the College.

The Department of Educational Communication Technology & pedagogical studies is one of the FIVE Departments in the Faculty of Education              

The Department of Educational Communication and Technology was established in 1972 as a component of the Faculty of Education. It was located in the Education Building at main campus. The department was re-located to the College of Education and External studies in 1988 upon re-establishment of the Faculty of Education.
