The department of Educational Communication Technology and Pedagogical studies emerged as the Most  Improved Teaching Department in the just concluded Staff recognition award ceremony held on 10th February 2025. This award is a testament of the great work that the staff and student in the department have put in, in achieving the departments vision, mission and core values lead by the Chairman Prof. Ngaruiya . In addition Dr Peter Kyalo was Awarded for Exemplary performance in the 2023/2024 FY. 

The University of Nairobi annual sports day was held on 18th October 2024, student and staff from different faculties of the University of Nairobi competed in various games and the winners awarded. The faculty of education was not left behind and  participated in various games including soccer, tennis volleyball, etc and emerged winners in a number of them

On 18th September 2024, the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) launched the ‘Youth Academy on Climate Adaptation and Leadership’  at the University of Nairobi during the “Dialogue on Accelerating Adaptation Education in a Climate Emergency.” The dialogue convened over 500 global leaders, development partners, academics, and student representatives to explore collaborative strategies for delivering climate adaptation education and discussed the importance of empowering young people and the most vulnerable communities to lead adaptation actions in Africa.
