The Africa Technology and Innovation Accelerator (AfTIA) programme is pleased to announce the 1st call for applications is now open. Applications can be received until 30thSeptember 2015.

This newly launched programme will enable C4DLab, the innovation lab of the University of Nairobi to incubate and accelerate startups and facilitate commercialization of innovations.

In a circular signed by the Academic Registrar, graduands have been advised to hire academic attire between Monday, August 24, 2015 to Thursday,  September 3, 2015from the respective College Registrars at a fee of Kshs. 3,000.  Those intending to purchase the dress have been advised to contact the Deputy Registrar, Examinations (Administration), Central Examinations Centre at Chiromo Campus for details.

Africa Technology and Innovation Accelerator (AFTIA) launch

The Chancellor, Dr, Vijoo Rattansi officially launched the Africa Technology and Innovation Accelerator (AFTIA)  on August 5th 2015. AFTIA is an incubation programme at the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Rattansi announced that AFTIA is receiving application from interested innovators. The best innovation will receive seed capital of $100,000.

UoN Maintains Top Position in the Region

The University of Nairobi has maintained its lead in the region in the just released Webometrics Ranking July 2015. UoN has been ranked positions 7 in Africa and 923 in the world, ahead of all other universities in the region. University of Cape Town was ranked first in Africa, with Stellenbosch University and University of Witwatersrand taking position two and three respectively.
